Laser engraving is a precision technique where a concentrated beam of light interacts with a material's surface to create a distinct cavity. This cavity is both visible and tactile. The process involves vaporizing or removing a layer of the material, with the depth and amount of material removed being finely controlled by an expert engineer. This allows for high-quality engravings on a variety of material types.

 Laser Ablation

Like etching and deep engraving, laser ablation is removing or vaporizing the surface material. The difference is ablation is removing a coating to expose either the bare surface material or another coating underneath. Examples of coatings would be anodized, powder coating or paint.

Laser Cutting Plastic

Laser cutting plastic creates intricate details cut to close tolerances. Other processes cannot achieve the same degree of precision. CNC programming flexibility allows laser users to change component designs quickly and effectively. The process requires virtually no hard tooling.

Quail's experiences in programming and process control minimizes part variation to hold tighter tolerances on plastics and synthetic materials.
